~ Star Rating System ~
This is a brief description of my book review rating system. I write fair and honest reviews that reflect an individual opinion of how well the books reads to include, characters, plot, flow, and the overall readability for an audience who enjoys this genre.. Please feel free to send me an email if you have any questions or comments.
These are excellent books that I would definitely recommend to a fellow reader. They are written very well and have qualities that will make the book stand out. These are the books that will capture your attention, have you on the edge of your seat, evoke emotions, and captivate you long after you finish that last page.
These are very good books that I would recommend. They are well written and compelling, a great read for sure, but not quite up to a five-star rating. Any issues are minimal, and do not distract from the overall enjoyment of the story.
These are good books that I would recommend with a few reservations. They have strengths, but also some weaknesses, which may relate to any number of elements including, but not limited to style, plot, characterization, pacing, and so forth.
1 or 2 Stars
These are books that I couldn’t finish, or books with more significant issues, as a whole. Generally, more narrow reviews for books that fall under this category are posted to the blog, as I prefer to let readers know all of my recommendations and ratings in the hopes to point them in the right direction of a fantastic read or deter them from wasting their time on an epic fail. These books seem to fall flat in major areas that distract too much from the overall enjoyment of the reader.
Please note: Books received through programs such as Netgalley may be reviewed on the blog, cross-posted, and/or submitted to the program, regardless of rating, at my discretion.
